Scottish Home Interior Design

This house, located in the Highlands, has a very wintery feel with Scandinavian influences. I used sustainable local materials for the interior design. The wood is sourced directly from the nearby forests.

Monte Lirio

The interior design of this house is inspired by nature. The house is surrounded by a great variety of trees in different shades of green, gray, and beige. Thanks to the abundant light and large windows, the outside blends with the inside, featuring olive greens, gray-browns, and my favorite blue. The windows, in fact, look like frames for photographs of the plants and trees outside, as if they were integrated into the house. Altogether, this creates a very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, with large open spaces decorated with natural fibers.

Casa JJ

Casa JJ is a complete refurbishment and realignment of internal spaces. My client needed a refined home from home, so I created an Art Deco-inspired townhouse where I have combined natural elements including leather, wood and personal accessories fitting with my client’s lifestyle. Furnished with statement pieces such as Chesterfield sofas, subtle ambient lighting, original pieces of art from Cádiz and Morocco, this home is a real inner sanctum.

Suite África

This is one of my favorite projects at the Hotel La Casa del Califa, enjoying the most fabulous views across Vejer and onto the African continent at Tangiers. I was inspired to use a blend of African influences from North to South using natural fibers, tribal textiles, and original art. Africa is synonymous with strength and energy, elements that are palpable in the earthy tones and blend of textures.

Casa Las Palomas

This cozy town house combines rustic elements such as natural textures and fibers to give the space warmth and personality.

FEZ bistró

A design journey which began in Morocco using dramatic influences in jewel color tones, original artifacts, and textures to transform this small space into a visually enticing and efficient bistro concept. Rich fabrics and a touch of drama are accentuated by the hand-painted elements that refer back to the golden age of Fez. This commission required a journey to Fez itself in order to source original pieces, and whilst there, inspired by local musicians, I acquired, amongst other pieces, a collection of record vinyls adding to the eclectic range of artwork on show. I liaised with the graphic designer giving him the pantone’s, camel logo and other details to complete the project.

La Tetería del Califa

I was commissioned to do a complete reformation and upgrade of the cocktail bar and gallery of the Califa hotel in Vejer de la Frontera. The client’s brief was that the experience of visiting the Tetería should be like stepping into another world. Using local artisan carpentry and luxury textiles I produced an intimate space with timeless quality. The large ball light was commissioned in Marrakesh while the ‘Alfarje’ ceiling (a reference to traditional mudejar ceilings found in Islamic architecture) was made in Vejer. I personalised the project by using the owners personal photography collection dating back over three generations adding family heirlooms collected from the Atlas mountains and framed textiles reflecting the clients own colourful life.

Califa Tapas

One of my deepest transformations was the complete renovation of this established tapas bar in Vejer. Using reclaimed materials, custom craftsmanship, and drawing inspiration from the traditional tapas bars of Jerez and Seville, I created an authentic handmade space. By breathing new life into the façade and interior, this tapas bar became one of Vejer’s most popular eating spaces. The concept was carried through to the design of the menus, tablecloths, and staff uniforms.

Hotel La Casa del Califa new rooms

The emblematic Hotel La Casa del Califa is a collection of historic buildings in the heart of Vejer’s palm-filled Plaza de España. The rooms were first decorated by the owners in 2001 and have changed very little until now. The main purpose of this restyling project was to bring a touch of luxury to the hotel, unifying design themes while incorporating the owner’s collection of art and artefacts. With these criteria, I have been able to maintain the Califa’s unique ‘feel’, very much a home away from home, relaxed, personal, and intimate.

Hammam Vejer

This project is an authentic and complete restoration of a dilapidated building from the mid-18th century. By turning the spaces into a luxurious Hammam, I have created a warm atmosphere using natural fibers and luxurious textiles where bronze, teak, and earthy tones are the essence of the Vejer Hammam. All the details of the interior have been handcrafted by artisans in Marrakesh and Andalucia, from the delicate woodwork to the traditional lamps, brass details, and the sumptuous textiles.

Corredera 55

Occupying one of Vejer’s most visible sites at the entrance to the old town, I adapted the owner’s original design to create a relaxed interior with stylish, harmonious, and atmospheric lighting that created a cozy ambiance. The design brief extended to every aspect of the project, including the façade and extensive outside space, a pergola with a unique curved opening roof. The smallest of details often make the biggest changes, this is the essence of making a project stand out in any competitive market.
